A Small 18th Century Boarded Elm Coffer. The single plank lid with moulded edges and iron loop hinges, opening to reveal an open candle trough to one end of the interior. The front board gouge carved with the date 1725 flanking initials PN to the centre below an iron lock-plate, bordered by decorative channel moulded bands and edged with chip carving. 14” (36 cm) high, 42½” (108 cm) wide, 14½” (37 cm) deep.
