The upholstered back, out-scrolled arms and sprung seat covered in a machine woven tapestry of heraldic shields amongst scrolling foliage on a drab ground edged with braid. The exuberantly scrolled arm terminals carved in the form of griffin heads and enriched with chains of bellflowers. The seat rails adorned with a band of Grecian wave strap-work edged with gadrooned moulding and standing on foliate crested cabriole legs terminating on ball & claw feet, 41½” (105 cm) high, 31” (79 cm) wide.
