A Late 17th Century Oak Cheshire Backstool; the broad, uncarved crescent shaped back rail centred by a pendant acorn finial and flanked by plain uprights with lobe cut terminals, the seat on ball & block legs united by a baluster & ball turned front stretcher and plain stretchers to the sides & rear, terminating on bun feet. 40” (102 cm) high, 18” (46 cm) wide. And an 18th century joined oak side chair with a fielded back panel below a shaped cresting rail, planked seat on turned legs united by a reel turned front stretcher and plain rails to the sides and rear, 38¼” (97 cm) high, 18¼” (46 cm) wide.
