Five of the knife blades with Sheffield assay marks dated 1828 with maker’s initials IL, 1889 by James Fenton & Co, three by John Yeomans Cowlishaw dated 1896, 1911 & 1912. The sixth knife with Birmingham hallmarks for 1883 and Hilliard & Thomason’s maker’s punch.
