A Delightful 19th Century French Tortoiseshell Purse of rounded oblong cushion form inlaid with gilt piqué work. The front centred by a small vacant shield festooned in a garland of flowers with fine silver wire stems and tendrils, framed by an intricate border band, with a floral sprig centring the back. The central push button clasp opening to reveal a folding concertina lining of brown kid leather and moiré silk with an innner clasp stamped BREVETE SDGD, 1” (2.5 cm) deep, 3” x 2” (7.5 cm x 5 cm).*
