The square lid inlaid with decorative yew cross-banding outlined in boxwood strings and having an iron ring turn catch with petalled mount releasing the sprung lock and opening to reveal a fitted interior housing square wooden pounce pot, green glazed ceramic ink pot with glass stopper a lidded compartment and drawer below. The sides enriched with further yew-wood bands, 6” (15 cm) high, 10¾” (27.5 cm) square.*
