Description
An Unusual 17th Century Carved & Painted Dome-topped Trunk. The planked pine lid later painted with a scenic cartouche to the centre in scalloped borders with date to the front and opening to reveal painted folk art flowers to the underside. The front and sides carved with figural panels; two to the front depicting Biblical scenes, and a man playing a harp to each end panel which is fitted with an iron swing handle. The divides adorned with barley-twist half column pilasters. Standing on turned feet (65 cm) high, (107 cm) wide, (54 cm) deep.
