An 18th Century Scottish Eight Day Long Case Clock. The 11¾” (30 cm) wide brass dial having an engraved roundel with maker’s name; Wm Robb Montrose to the arch, flanked by ornamental mounts with entwined stems of flowers and foliage. The dial’s chapter ring marked with Roman numeral hour counters within a minutes ring, marks at five minute divisions with Arabic numerals. The centre engraved with scrolling foliage and incorporating a seconds subsidiary ring, winding holes and a calendar aperture. The nicely patinated case having a domed hood with brass capped corner columns, a lip moulded arch topped trunk door and a moulded base on bracket feet, 76½” (94 cm) high.*
