Description
A Late 19th Century Black Lacquered Box of rectangular form. The hinged lid with slight twin dome surface decorated in raised gilt lacquered with rockwork, prunus blossom and two birds in flight. The sides enriched with sprays of foliage, the front with an engraved brass escutcheon in the from of a bird. The interior fitted with four lidded boxes containing approx 100 bone counters stained red, green, purple & yellow. 3¼” (8 cm) high, 9¾” x 8” (25 cm x 20 cm).
