A Group of Five Georgian Turned Treen Fleam Knockers & Mallets: One of well patinated boxwood with a lead weight insert to the end and a finely turned finial to the tapered handle 9½” (24 cm) in length. Another of turned boxwood decorated with bands of groove turning to the mallet end and squat bun handle finial, and having a drilled hole to the end, presumably for inserting a weight 8¾” (22.3 cm) in length. A third boxwood mallet with flat end and a turned finial to the handle, 8¾” (22.3 cm) in length. A more rustic example turned from dark timber with a flat weighted end, 9½” (24 cm) in length. And a later boxwood example having incised ring turning with a finialed end to the mallet and a domed pommel to the handle, 9” (23 cm) in length.*
