Description
A 19th Century Fitted Mahogany Work Table. The cross-banded top having two drop leaves with rounded corners, supported by fly brackets. The frieze housing two drawers to one side; one being a fitted writing drawer, with corresponding dummy front drawers to the other side above a deep tapering fabric drawer clad in pleated green silk. The cock-beaded drawer fronts fitted with ornately cast brass stud handles and inlaid with diamond keyhole surrounds. Standing on moulded end supports raised upon out-swept legs united by a turned stretcher and terminating on brass lion paw caps and castors, 28½” (72 cm) high, 19¼” (49 cm) deep, 17” (43 cm) wide [flaps down], 33½” (85 cm) [flaps up].
