Description
A Fabulous Victorian Etched Glass Claret Jug with Silver Mounts by Alexander Macrae, London 1872. The cylindrical body engraved with scrolling vines bearing clusters of fruit above a bulge foot with star cut base. The silver collar richly decorated with embossed & chased fruit garlands encircling face mask cartouches, with Silenus mask to the pouring spout. The hinged lid with lion rampant finial bearing an armorial shield, 10¾” (27.5 cm) in height.
