The piece profusely decorated in white dotted brown & ochre slip glaze on a creamy yellow ground with the head of Charles II in oak tree flanked by rampant lion & unicorn framed by a cross-hatched slip ware border incorporating ‘THOMAS TOFT’ to the base. The underside stamped with potter’s ‘H’ marks, 19” (48 cm) in diameter.
