A Fabulous & Rare 18th Century Painted Wooden Punch Bowl with integral chain securing a punch ladle, all carved from a single piece of sycamore. The bowl’s interior inscribed with the drunkard’s motto; ”one more bowl and then”, bordered in a lattice band. The exterior decorated in the style of porcelain bowls of the period with a scenic Chinoiserie panel flanked by sprigs of honey suckle and morning glory enhanced with gilding. Standing on a turned foot, 4½” (11 cm) high, 8¼” (21 cm) in diameter.
