A Small and Charming 19th Century Whale Bone & Horn Ditty Box. The oval bucket form container having twisted horn swing handle and engraved sides simulating wooden staves decorated with a bird and leafy garlands in cartouche to one side and an inscription to the other ‘Think of Me When this You see’, with sprays of rising flowers in-between. The horn lid painted with a basket of flowers and fitted with a ball knop handle, 3¼” (8 cm) in high, 2” x 1¾” (5 cm x 4.5 cm).
