A Group of Four Late 19th Century American Corkscrews with turned beechwood handles: A partial puller corkscrew by Williamson of Newark New Jersey with wire cutter, cap lifter, a bell-shaped frame and centre cut helix, circa 1900, 5¾” (14.5 cm) in length. Three straight-pull corkscrews; the largest having a plated band to the centre of the handle marked ‘PATENT APPLIED FOR’, and a domed button above the simple wire helix, 5¼” (13.5 cm) in length. The next with brass finials to the handle, a turned steel shank and simple wire helix 4¾ (12 cm) in length. The third with handle band stamped ‘HAFF MAN’F’G Co. NEW YORK PAT APP 14 ’85. MAY 5th ’85’
