An English Champagne-Corkscrew by Hugh Mr Bride patented 19 May 1888, with a boxwood champagne cork-shaped handle stamped ‘PATENT No 7431’ to the side, ‘Dry Monopole’ around the edge and ‘REIMS HEIDSIECK & Co’ to the end, and having a fluted wire helix, 4½” (11.5 cm) in length.
