Description
A Decorative 19th Century Tôleware Coal Scuttle. The main body decorated with gilt embellishments and clumps of gilded reeds on a red ground with an inset reverse painted glass panel to the hinged lid painted with a spaniel reclining on a tasselled footstool, and a shovel to the rear. The elaborate cast iron foliate scroll handle enriched with gilding. Terminating on white ceramic castors held in cast iron mounts, 19” (48 cm) high, 12½” (32 cm) wide, 17½” (44 cm) deep.
