The lids lid carved in relief with a convivial tavern scene from Rabbie Burns’ ”Tam O’Shanter” with three imbibers at Kirkton Jean’s. The front carved with a pair of recumbent sheep; the sides with recumbent dogs, 2½” (6.5 cm) high, 7” x 3½” (18 cm x 9 cm).
