Description
A Fine 19th Century Pressed Horn Box of round flat form. The lid intricately decorated with a cherub crouched amongst roses and encircled by verse; ‘Cupid once upon a bed, of roses laid his weary head, Luckless urchin not to see, within the leaves and slumbering bee, The bee awoke with temper wild, then bewildered stung the child’. The turned base embellished with a wreath of fruiting vine, 3” (7.5 cm) in diameter.
