A Fine 18th Century Boarded Oak Desk Box with 19th Century Folk Art Carving. The rectangular plank lid on wire hinges re-enforced with strap hinges, with run-moulding to the front edge opening to reveal a candle trough to one side. The front board emblazoned with initials WB flanking a sunburst above date 1824 and stylised sprays of flowers either side defined against a recessed nail punched ground, 8½” (22 cm) high, 24” (61 cm) wide, 14” (36 cm) deep. *
