A Delightful 19th Century Fruitwood Desk Box enriched with elaborately carved appliqués. The sloped lid centred by an engraved brass clock dial; the hand activating a locking mechanism within (seized), above a small flat sliding button catch. The dial flanked by chip carved birds, sun flowers and scrolls of foliage with winged angel heads adorning the corners. The carved appliqués continued around the sides and front. The piece standing on turned feet 6 ¾” (17 cm) high, 10½” (27 cm) wide, 7” (18 cm) deep.*
