An Extremely Rare Folk Art Pedlar’s Shoulder Pack Stick. The end having a carved and painted finial in the form of a seated lady with ringlets, wearing a mop cap, long dress and shawl, Circa 1800-1820. 45½” (115.5 cm) in length [Similar example in Edward Pinto’s ‘Treen and Other Wooden Bygones’ plate 441, but described as a ”pedlar’s staff shop sign”, and also in Robert Young’s ”Folk Art” page 39].
