A 17th Century Fitted Writing/Stationary Box of rectangular form, with later scumble glazed finish, bound in studded metal straps back painted. The lid having swing handle to the centre, the front fitted with a shaped escutcheon, lock & replacement key enclosing a partitioned interior of lift out trays and compartments. One side of the exterior stamped with initials EI. 6½” (16.5 cm) high, 14½” (37 cm) wide, 9¾” (25 cm) deep.
