The flat lid on studded iron strap hinges, intricately carved with a banded roundel framing the central ring handle, and foliage scrolling around fleurée crosses either side. The front fitted with a box lock and hasp, the key with a tag inscribed ‘Aylesbury Box’, 4¾” (12 cm) high, 12¾ (32.5 cm) wide, 8½” (22 cm) deep. *
