A Mahogany Cased Chiming Mantel Clock striking a gong. The movement stamped on back plate Mapel & Co Ltd Paris with Medaille d’Argent 1855 stamp and numbers 1081 B, corresponding to the numbered pendulum. The 6½” (16.5 cm) convex white enamelled dial marked with black Arabic numerals and dotted minute divisions. The case having a swept top, the facade decorated with carved rope-twist cord tied into bows to the top and hanging down each side with pendant tassels to the ends. Standing on swept bracket feet 15¼” (39 cm) high, 11½” (29 cm) wide.
