A Rare 19th Century Engraved Horn Whaler’s Tankard enriched with pen-work decoration and having a handle cut from the horn and bent back on itself. The front emblazoned with a ship in full sail in a chip carved roundel beneath a pennant inscribed ‘TAKE A SWIG FOR GREASEY LUCK’, with further pennants to the base inscribed J.B. FENN 1862 to the base. The roundel flanked by whales, the back inscribed Ship Kathleen below the handle,mounted on a wooden base 7½” (19 cm) in height.*
