Description
Two 19th Century English Straight-pull Corkscrews with wooden handles: A Henshall type circa 1840 with decorative ring turning, a hanging ring and a brush to the handle above a knopped brass shank with button marked ‘WILMOTT & ROBERTS PATENT’ around the top with wrythen serrations to the underside and a simple wire helix, 5¾” (14.5 cm) in length. The other circa 1860 having an acorn turned brush socket to the handle, a baluster steel shank marked ‘ROBERT JONES & SON’ above a wrythen cut ‘claw’ and simple wire helix, 5½” (14 cm) in length.
