A Fine 18th Century Lignum Vitae Pestle & Mortar & A 19th Century Mortar, both of fine colour & patination. The 18th century mortar having turned moulding to the middle and a turned groove to the top of the slightly flared base, 6½ in (16.5 cm) tall; the pestle with a bulbous head and turned ‘button’ end, 8¾ ins (22 cm) long. The second mortar of ‘Diablo’ shape with a ring turned band to the curved conical bowl and a wide rounded collar at the base over a diverging conical foot, probably 19th century. 8¾ ins (21 cm) tall.
