Description
A German Painted Wooden Toy Noah’s Ark & Animals, Circa 1930, attributed to the Erzgebirge region. The flat-bottomed ark having an apexed roof-lid and rectangular box-form sides painted with off-set perspective windows above arched bridges spanning water, on a flat V-ended base board. The vessel housing an extensive menagerie of carved & painted wooden animals in pairs, and the figures of Noah & wife, 8¾” (22 cm) high, 20” (51 cm) in length, 6” (15 cm) deep.
