Description
A Fine 18th Century, or possibly earlier, Turned Fruitwood Mortar Grater of rich colour & patination. The mushroom top above a two section graduated twin-bulb body on spreading foot, carved underneath with initials ME, 8½” (21.5 cm) in height. [A similar example is illustrated in Edwrad Pinto’s ”Treen and Other Wooden Bygones” 178 G described as possibly 17th century]
