Description
Two 19th Century Coquilla Nut Containers. An early 19th century elongated egg shaped flask pierced and intricately carved with flowers & foliage between finely reeded bands and having a pierced bun finials to the centre and screw-off conical end, 3½” (9 cm) in length. And a carved figural snuff box modelled as two scantily clad nymphs and a bearded bacchanal sat on a leafy mound around a tree-stump; the hollowed trunk with an opening to the top (lacking stopper), the base with a rectangular aperture (lacking lid) 3” (7.5 cm) in length.
