    Workshop of Jacques Laudin (1617-1695). A Pair of Late 17th Century Framed Limoges Enamelled Plaques. The slightly convex rectangular panels grisaille painted with the figures of Jesus and Mary enhanced with gilding against a dark blue ground, with clumps of lilies to the lower corners and gilt embellishments to the upper corners. Inscribed in bands along the bottom edges 'JESUS' and 'MATER' and initialled I.L bottom right. 6¼ in x 4¾ in (16 cm x 12 cm). Set in fine open carved giltwood frames decorated with scrolls of foliage around gadrooned inner borders, with engraved paper maker's labels for C.E. Clifford, 10¾ in x 9¾ in (27.5 cm x 24 cm).
