An 18th Century Scottish Oak Long-case Clock with eight day movement by Rob. Knox Kilmarnock . The twelve inch brass dial having a convex roundel engraved with maker’s name to the arch flanked by scrolling dolphin mounts. The chapter ring displaying blacked Roman numeral hour counters within a ring of Arabic five minute counters, encircling a decoratively engraved centre of scrolling foliage incorporating a subsidiary seconds dial, ring-turned winding holes and a calendar aperture. The corners embellished with ornamental spandrels. The case having a flat-topped cavetto dentil moulded hood with side columns, above a lip-moulded trunk door swept up to a peak at the top, and a moulded base on bracket feet 82¾” (210 cm) high, 18½” (47 cm) wide at the base.
