A Fine 19th Century Carved Coconut Shell ‘Bugbear’, intricately decorated with a relief portrait of an admiral in a roundel to one side, his sweetheart to the other, and a winged figure with Cupid’s bow in-between. One end embellished with a rosette, the other with whimsical face mask with pierced aperture forming the mouth, and hollowed out eyes, 4½” (11.5 cm) in length.
