An Early 17th Century Inlaid Oak Wainscot Chair. The arcaded panel back centred by a geometric knot of marquetry bands within a guilloche carved arch with foliate sprays to the corners. The top rail crested with scrolling foliage and projecting either side of the channel moulded uprights. The arms on marrow turned posts leading down to the plank seat above serpentine cut rails and reel turned baluster legs united by peripheral stretchers, 42” (107 cm) high, 24½” (62 cm) wide, the seat 20½” (52 cm) high.
