A 17th Century Joined Oak Wainscot Chair. The arcaded panel back richly carved with a flowering plant rising from a petalled demi-lune and issuing a rosette bloom to the top and daisy wheels either side within a scalloped edge arch adorned with demi-lune flower-heads and foliage. The shaped cresting rail bordered in a carved band fashioned into voluted scrolls to the centre, and projecting either side above S-scroll ‘ear-pieces’. The arms on turned ports leading to a plank seat above channel moulded rails and cannon-barrel turned legs untied by peripheral stretchers. 40½” (102 cm) high, 21” (53 cm) wide, the seat 16½” (53 cm) in height.
