A Fine 19th Century Figured Walnut Sideboard by Marsh & Jones (Late Kendell & Co.) with original printed paper maker’s label inscribed in ink with workman’s name and numbered 16428, possibly designed by Charles Bevan in the modern Gothic style. The burr figured break-front top and canted corners above an inlaid frieze decorated with a guilloche chain of quatrefoils in ebony roundels. The central break front door ornamented with inlaid foliate designs displayed in a shaped panel against a dark ground with stringing to the corners and side panels. The canted pilasters enriched with carving. Standing on a plinth base 38” (97 cm) high, 41¼” (105 cm) wide, 17” (43 cm) deep.
