A Large & Unusual 19th Century Welsh Carved Treen Knitting Sheath, originating from Pontypool. The chip carved tapering square section shaft incorporating a pierced ‘lantern’ with an architectural structure enclosed within, surmounted by an intricately turned spindle to one end and a plain pole turned haft with needle hole to the other, 10½” (27 cm) in length.
