Description
A 17th Century Style Flemish Oak Cabinet on Stand of diminutive proportions. The cabinet having a moulded top enriched with carved scrolls of undulating foliage above two doors divided by fluted Corinthian style half-columns, over a twin panel frieze drawer adorned with lion mask corbels. The door fronts and drawers inset with ebony panels in decoratively moulded frames with conforming panels to the sides. The base section housing a further frieze drawer centred by a lion mask corbel, with ebonised facet-cut baguettes either side in moulded frames above scrolling apron pieces crested with foliage and raised on knopped legs. The back with ivorine retailer’s label; ‘Muirhead Moffat & Co Antiques & Fine Art Dealers 142 Douglas Street Glasgow’. 44½” (113 cm) high, 27½” (70 cm) wide, 14” (36 cm) deep.
