A 19th Century Carved Oak X-frame Chair in the manner of the folding ‘Glastonbury Chair’. The back centred by a square moulded panel carved with a wrythen design of foliate stems. The top rail carved with the initials SWR in a recessed panel defined against a pitted ground beneath a row of trefoils. The down-swept arms adorned with undulating scrolls of foliage leading to a curved plank seat on X-frame supports. The joints fixed with projecting tenons secured with wedges, 37” (94 cm) high, 28” (71 cm) wide.
