A Late 19th Century Cumnock Pottery Slip-ware Teapot from the Scottish borders, having a cream slip panel to one side with sgrafitto flower & inscription ‘Mrs J. Taylor Newfield Dundonald 1898’ on a brown glazed ground. The flat lid surmounted by a seated figure, 8 in (20 cm) in height. Known as a ‘Widow’ teapot because to the lonely figure on the lid, from Elijah and the Widow of Zaraphath.
