Belonging to a small group of seven samplers known to have been sewn at Mrs Venthams Boarding School, Winton (The old name for Winchester), sewn with specific motifs; farm animals, deer and a duckpond/ milkmaid as used on all the known examples. [Sarah was born in Winchester on July 9th 1790 to Thomas Lord & Sarah Kurnot] 13¾” x 11½” (34.8 cm x 29 cm). excluding frame. [Provenance Michael & Elizabeth Feller Collection].
