A 17th Century Joined Oak Wainscot Chair attributed to Somerset Circa 1640. The tall back having a shaped cresting rail carved with foliage and embellished with punch-work above a lunette carved rail flanked by shaped flanking pieces. The back panel carved with a quatrefoil design within channeled lozenge bands enhanced with dark stain, with triangular foliate corner panels. The scroll end arms on cannon barrel turned posts leading down to a moulded seat on turned legs united by peripheral stretchers. 48¾” (124 cm) high, the seat 17¼” (44 cm) 25½” (65 cm) wide.
