A Large 17th Century Style Oak Wainscot Chair. The shaped cresting rail carved with seeding foliate scrolls and having voluted scroll terminals above S-scroll ‘ear-pieces’. The back panel centred by a lozenge motif emitting scrollwork from the corners. The uprights adorned with split spindle appliqués. The plank seat with chip carved sides and an additional drop-on cushioned pad covered in machine woven ‘needlepoint’ fabric edged in tassels. Standing on cannon-barrel turned legs united by low peripheral stretchers, 122 cm high, 58.5 cm wide, 55 cm deep (48” h. 23” w. 21¼” d.)
