A Fabulous Baroque Gdansk (Danzig) Armoire, Poland, Circa 1700, composed of Hungarian ash timbers with an attractive undulating grain. The deep cavetto moulded cornice above two cupboard doors with recessed shaped panels in richly moulded frames, flanked by breakfront pilasters surmounted by Corinthian style capitals carved with voluted scrolls & crested acanthus. The base section housing two cushion fronted panel drawers with ring handles on star shaped mounts, raised on five imposing octagonal bulb feet, 92½ in (235 cm) high, 73½ in (187 cm) wide (81 in (206 cm) cornice width, 27½ in (70 cm) deep.
