Description
A French Directoire Style Free-Standing Bureau Plat; a reproduction in the late 18th style. The rectangular top having a tooled leather insert and moulded edge. The frieze fitted with a central drawer flanked by pairs of side drawers with shaped corner brackets to the ‘knee-hole’; the drawer fronts, conforming back panels and sides adorned with finely cast gilt bronze mounts, standing on square tapering legs with gilded lion paw sabots, 30” (76 cm) high, 59” (150 cm) wide, 31½” (80 cm) deep.
