A Small Chinese Late Qing Period Carved Agate Census, 19th Century. The finely carved translucent stone beautifully figured with grey, amber & brown cloud formations. The domed cover surmounted by a carved Qilin, the ovoid body having hanging ring handles threaded through mythical beast head mounts either side and raised on three legs above a carved hardwood base, 6¼” (16 cm) in height.
