The eight day movement having a 11½ in (30 cm) brass dial with strike/silent ring in the arch above a brass chapter ring encircling matted centre with seconds dial, calendar aperture and a makers label inscribed Willm Carter Kingston. The corners and arch embellished with intricate Rococo scroll spandrels and mounts. The case decorated in gilt lacquers on a black ground with a pagoda hood surmounted by brass finials. The break arch-topped trunk door decorated with a basket of flowers, a huntsman & hounds above chinoiserie figures & pagoda, with a horseman to the base, 96 in (244 cm) in height.
