Description
A Splendid 17th Century Flemish Carved Oak Cupboard in two sections. The upper section having a deep moulded cornice above a richly carved frieze centred by a fluted tazza cascading fruit flanked by undulating scrolls of foliage. The upper panel doors and lower twin panel doors centre by carved angel heads amidst outspread feathery wings and scrolls of foliage adorned with small ebonised boss appliqués and set in moulded frames. The breakfront half-column pilasters with stop-fluting below Ionic scroll capitals and carved with bands of ornamental strapwork applied and inlaid with ebony adornments. The moulded base with lion mask carved corbels, raised on stylised paw feet, 77¾” (197.5 cm) high, 60” (153 cm) wide, 25½” (65 cm) deep.
